Baseline
Rodney and Chris’ Thoughts
Baseline. What is the baseline or foundation you’re working from? Is there something specific you need to work on to improve or is it an overall improvement that’s required?
How is your baseline measured? It could be a test, a weigh in, the speed in how long something takes or just something you can measure against to gauge results from.
Your baseline could be your current health state, your relationship with someone, your financial situation or a business process you’re looking to enhance.
It’s important to know what is working well and what you need to work on, what to strengthen, what to adjust or streamline to develop on your foundation.
When aware of your baseline, set yourself a target and a timeline to achieve your desired results then stick to your process and stay consistent.
Put in the work and the results will come. Re-test at different stages, draw on your circle for support and utilise the resources around you to hold you accountable to grow.
Without knowing exactly what your starting position is, you won’t be able to determine if you are developing, growing, moving in the right direction towards your goals. It has to be a part of the planning process and again throughout, as your baseline will change. Think of it as climbing sets of stairs. You’re on the ground, how do I feel? Climb the first set of stairs to the first landing. Now how do I feel? Then climb the next set of stairs to the next landing. Each time you’re becoming stronger, your cardio is improving, your confidence and durability builds. The next week, when you climb that set of stairs again, things will be different. Now this is a simple short timeframe example, but is applied the same way for anything you do.
Quotes to Remember
“Withholding feedback is choosing comfort over growth." — Adam Grant, American author and professor.
“You can’t build a great building on a weak foundation. You must have a solid foundation if you’re going to have a strong superstructure.” – Gordon B. Hinckley
What’s Upcoming?

He then backs up on Sunday morning to race in the Sydney Trail Series – Manly Dam 30km in Sydney NSW, to build accumulative fatigue under race conditions.
Then on the 28th March, “The Boss” Amanda is racing in the Buffalo Stampede 100km in beautiful Bright Vic. She has had a huge training block leading up to this, to be as best prepared as possible. This race is a qualifying race for Western States 100mile in the USA.
