Standards

Rodney and Chris’ Thoughts
Standards. What standards do you set yourself? Do you sacrifice your standards to take an easier option?

Reducing a rep in the gym, cutting a corner on a run or not proofreading an important email before it’s sent. Lowering your standards for ‘ease’ ends up costing you more in the long run. It may lead to instant gratification now, which is very short lived.

Maintain your standards and strive for delayed gratification, because that’s where you receive the greater reward and fulfilment.

Standards is a value of Run Rocket Run.

We are constantly working towards a higher level of standards and if those standards start to slip, we check ourselves, hold each other accountable and make adjustments to work towards where we need to.

Too often people accept mediocrity, however higher standards and consistent enhanced performance separates great from average. Don’t settle for average.

What standards are you working towards in 2026? Are you accepting of average and just getting through or are you trying to increase your performance to excel at a higher level each day?

Quotes to Remember
“You have competition every day because you set such high standards for yourself that you have to go out every day and live up to that.” — Michael Jordon, six-time NBA Champion.

“Without standards, there can be no improvement.” - Taiichi Ohno, Japanese businessman and father of the Toyota Production System
