Adversity

Rodney and Chris’ Thoughts
Adversity. Adversity is something we all work through at various times. The difference is how we handle it and respond.

Adversity is the tension between where you are and where you’re trying to go. It’s the resistance that forces you to grow — the pressure that reveals your habits, your discipline, and your character.

It’s not a setback; it’s just something you need to work through.

Adversity can be any moment where your plan starts to break or drift off course and needs to be corrected.

In business, a deal falls through, the strategy is slipping, funding stops or the market changes unplanned.

Likewise in our personal lives we’ll experience disappointment, fatigue, pressure, uncertainty, and seasons that will challenge us.

But, working through adversity builds resilience, teaches perspective as well as emotional endurance and forces us to simplify, check ourselves, prioritise and strengthen what we can control.

When faced with adversity, don’t avoid it, recognise it, work through it and when you move forward let it build you and remind yourself that you’re capable of more than you think.

We’ve all had moments where we didn’t think we could keep going — and yet we did.

That shared struggle is what connects us and that shared resilience is what we learn from and what helps us grow.

Refrain the way you look at adversity. Whilst it most often appears in our lives as terrible or negative situation, it won’t last forever and it will also lead to new opportunities. Embrace those opportunities, because when we push through those bad times, we better appreciate the good times.

Quotes to Remember

“Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit.” – Napoleon Hill, American author.
